the nice parking enforcement man from NY

My fun new phrase? "I'm blogging that shiZ." Ok, so I don't say shiz, but its for edification sake...The point is that whenever something funny happens, I believe I should blog it for others to share in the comedic moment of which I recently experienced.
So this funny experience went down on Monday evening, after Theology on Tap. It was a good night; heard a talk by a witty nun from Assisi who thought she had a vocation to marriage that would supply her with enough kids for a soccer team; hilarious. After the talk there was drinks, catching up with friends from College and meeting new faces. Its a good time. But I should back up, for the story really begins when we first arrived, parking the car. Were driving along Pitt street when I spot, ah, a spot. Parking spot to be precise. As we are pulling in I look up to the right hand side of the street to see the nice, friendly, green lettered sign which reads "2hour parking". I then consult my party who quickly agrees, "Oh def, we'll be fine here. Were only staying till 10pm." Now, it was about 7 at this point, mind you. But we were confident..now whether we just really wanted to get into the bar & enjoy our after work pint of choice and ciggy, or if we really thought we would not get a ticket, jury is still out... but, I'm sure both factors involved.
So, back to the bar. So around 10 we are getting ready to leave and I think to myself as I grab my keys out of my jacket, "Mm, the car. Well I hope its still there." So outside we go. We get distracted for a minute, but none the less start inching towards the car as we are talking to people. But then I see him - a nice man in what resembles a police-man's outfit. I think to myself, "Ah, he's a cute old man. With a small car/cart thing ....with tickets ....in his hand...shut!!" And then take off running. Luckily the car is not far. Even luckier, the nice, pudgy, parking enforcement officer/agent (yea i said it), was from upstate New York. And who's from upstate NY? Nope, not me, but someone in my car was. She knows who she is, and so for her, I devote this blog. AH, its those funny moments that are the best, fo sho. So here's to that certain parking agent, that certain girl from NY, and beer, bamf*
